Doug Unger is the author of five novels, including Leaving the Land, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and winner of the Society of Midland Authors Award. His many honors and distinctions include a fellowship from the Guggenheim Foundation, a Fulbright scholarship, and the Nevada State Board of Regents Medal for Creative Activities. He is the co-founder of the MFA in Creative Writing International program at UNLV and serves on the executive board of Words Without Borders
