We are training and working alongside the younger generation of stewards through our Promotores Verdes Youth Corps (YC). Through outdoor recreation, environmental literacy, cultural expression, and green workforce development, the YC equips young leaders with the skills and knowledge to drive meaningful change. We offer youth-focused activities throughout the year and summer camps that promote the health benefits of nature and the arts.
In 2025, we will offer camps in Colorado and Puerto Rico.
Colorado’s camp will emphasize the power of outdoor recreation in improving health and caring for the environment. Students will experience a variety of recreational sports, including hiking and biking, while learning about conservation through activities like trail restoration and tree planting.
In partnership with Boy Scouts of Puerto Rico, we will also host a camp at the historic Campamento Guajataca, offering campers an extraordinary opportunity to witness and understand the impact of climate change and environmental justice firsthand. It will be a unique experience that incorporates culture, arts, environmental, and recreational activities.
The program -free of cost- will culminate in the summer of 2025 in our signature 5 days Promotores Verdes Youth Congress- at Rocky Ridge Music Center in Rocky Mountain National Park.
